The SCA Copper Anti-Seize is a non melt paste which contains high concentrations of both copper and ceramic to prevent seizure at extremely high temperatures. This NGLI 1.5 paste has increased levels of special polymers that make it highly water-resistant, and in so, also seal out the ingress of water into the threads of fasteners. Once applied to threaded fasteners subject to high temperatures and weathering such as those found on exhaust manifolds, calipers and engine/gearbox mount bolts this product makes for easy, fuss free maintenance and disassembly without rounding off nuts, breakage or helicoil kits. A thin layer applied to the reverse side of brake pads prevents the sonic created between the pad and caliper which we know as brake squeal.

Seizure is caused on metal surfaces and threads that are pressed in contact for extended period of time. This seizure comes about because surface oxidation causes crystals, on the opposing surfaces of the threads, to grow into each other and lock or seize. More recently this seizure has been termed Tribocorrosion and is effectively the material degradation process borne out by the effect of corrosion and wear on the opposing metallic surfaces. The physical and chemical properties of an effective anti-seize compound or paste prevents both the wear and corrosion effects (seizure) through a wide temperature range (-45 degrees to >1100 degrees) ensuring low break-away torques and easy disassembly.
